Has anyone here been able to use the dotnet security cookies in a cold fusion app. I'm going to be adding a blog or forum to an app andwant to integrate security.
thanks

If it's session based then you wont be able to as each application manages it's sessions differently. If it's standard cookies, then yes you'll be able to.

i was wondering if authentication cookies could be accessed and if there is a way for CF to set them.
CF claims to work well in an integrated environment. question is are they just able to co-exist or can cf really interoperate on this level.

Ohh I think I see... in that case I'm not totally sure because I never tried. Does it set a physical cookie on the client machine? If so, and you can access it, then yes... there's a way. Of course I dont know how/if any encryption is going to play a role in this as well.
the cookie is physical

thanks's for responding,
The authentication cookie is physical. I'm not using in-proc. I don't know if encryption is being used by dotnet for this. THere is a way to create authentication ticket manuelly, but never had the need. In eather case the question remains can someone else, another platform, access the ticket?
Do you have any suggestions as to where i could find out how the ticket is stored?
thanks
