Has anyone tried integrating the two? I am going to try and use paypal instead of the gateway I'm currently using to try and cut down on costs. The instructions on how to integrate paypal into an existing site is very complicated for someone who is not a professional (i.e. me ) Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Hello (again) Jessica,
To set up Paypal as your payment gateway, you must first have a PayPal merchant account. After you have one, here is how you set your site up to use the PayPal Module:

-Opening a browser
-Going to your store's admin link
-Log in
-Click on the + next to Stores
-Click the + next to your store's name
-Click Payment Configuration
-Put a check next to PayPal Instant Payment Notification
-Press Update
-Click the link for PayPal Instant Payment Notification that is now at the top of the list
-Fill out the information that PayPal gives you
(note: they should give you specific information for Miva Merchant 5)
-Press Update

I set up Paypal IPN for my account following these exact directions; I also activated IPN for my website; yet, transaction data doesn't seem to be getting reported back to me. When I visit my "Order Processing" section in Miva, none of my Paypal transactions or data are being reported back to me. Help!
