Hey all...

I am new to the HostMySite community and web hosting in general.

I am wondering what folks are doing around here about source control and projects involving distributed team memebers. I assume lots of folks have source servers that do back ups and then copy up to thier live site.

My issue is i am trying to avoid having a second server up since i'll have a distributed team. E.g. if i could host my own servers for that i likley wouldnt need the hosting service. Anyone have some good tips?

thanks!

well you could have a password protected directory on your site for development. This really wouldn't be true source control. But maybe you could setup some kind of automated FTP that downloads locally every X hours to a local directory for a backup.

Another option is to make your dev team backup anything they work on before doing work on a file, to a subdirectory in your dev directory.
