Does HMS allow Farcry CMS (http://farcry.daemon.com.au) to be installed on shared accounts (CF Builder)?
The installation manual is very detailed -- I am not sure you can install this on a hosted environment. Can anyone confirm? Thanks |

we do allow farcry use on our servers. Most often people install it into their local directory as i dont think there is much of a server install required.

farcry looks really cool from their website. I downloaded it and can't seem to install the **** thing correctly. I used /farcry for both my application and farcry admin mappings. I take it this isn't correct? I extracted the files included in the .zip to apache/webroot/farcry/
is there a faq anywhere covering farcry installation? I couldn't find anything on their website. thanks. |

Thanks for your reply Dan,
Actually I did try installing it last night, with several errors. I am going to try to find any config files I can modify before I bug HMS support. The manual seems to describe installation on non-hosted environments. The thing is I do most of my development on my notebook and I do not want to install MySQL, and PHP, just so that I can use PHPMyAdmin to modify the MySQL database.

Just for reference, here is a tutorial about how to use FarCry on a shared account - even if others already are using it on the same shared server...
