Other Miva Products

Hi,
Quick question, I have a site that I sell multiple items as well as services. I noticed that by default, It always shows the weight and shipping for the product. If I'm selling a service in the store, is there a way I can list something without having those showing ?

Hi Tony,

Within Miva admin, if you click on your store name under the stores tab. It will display a list of differnt options.

Within these options is Product List Layout.

There you can determine what is displayed for the products when customers view your catalog online.

Example:

Services - No Show Shipping

Products - Show Shipping

My first response would be to say "No", however if you give me your domain name I can look around in your Miva Admin and see if I can find a way to do this selectively for you. If you don't want to post it send it to jamie@hostmysite.com.

Tony,

Have you tried using the Categories to define what is displayed? I believe that will allow you to make the adjustments that you want - I didn't want to 'fool around with it' since both stores appear to be live, so here are directions for you to check it out:

1. Expand your store
2. Expand CATEGORIES
3. Click on the category that you wish to alter
4. Click on the Product Layout filed on the right
5. Select the options that you want displayed in the Product Fields section
6. Respond to this thread on how much you love HostMySite!

Note: Step #6 is purely optional. Wink

Let me know if this doesn't work like you want it to.

Hi Jamie,
Thanks for the info. I already had that unchecked, unfortunately, when you go into the item detail in the store, its still showing the "Shipping Weight" naturally I have it a 0 lbs, but it just looks kind of cheesy. Maybe in 4.23 there will be a fix for this... Thanks..

Tony, here is what Miva told us about this:

This is a good question (built into latest release)! Removal of the product
weight or product code was not possible on the product description page
without editing the source or acquiring a third party module (openui.org).
With the release of the new version yesterday, the capability of removing
those fields from product description pages is now possible. You do need to
install the latest Miva Empresa with Virtual Machine engine: V4.14 to
upgrade the software to: V4.23
